Memory Verse 4, 5 & 6
And yet another one for you! Or a couple ;) These ones are easy...
John 17:17b
Your word is truth.
Psalm 119:42b
For I trust in Your word.
Psalm 117:74b
For I have put my hope in Your word.
A group of very encouraging verses.

Memory Verse 3
John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.
This verse is an "extra" verse. One that the kids do not memorize during the regular book. There is some extra sections that they can do once they go through the entire book. Usually by that time the weight of this verse is understandable by the kids.

Memory Verse 2
Another verse to challenge you to memorize this week. Not just to say you memorized it, but to meditate on it throughout the week.
This verse means so much more as an adult when you understand true and the depth of what it means in this culture. Seeing that there are so many false truths in the world; so many different truths to different people. The idea that something may be true for someone, but not true for someone else. Is so scary to think about it. Especially when children are being surrounded by this.
Jeremiah 10:10a
But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God.
Memory Verse
Here is my first memory verse to memorize, and that I will challenge each of my readers to memorize as well.
Psalm 100:3
Know that the LORD is God, It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Awana
This year marks the second year of helping out with Awana here in Ripon. I'm excited. Way excited. I feel like I finally know what I'm doing, so I can actually do something other than help as an extra adult body shuffling kids from room to room.
This year we have made some changes, one in which I'm very excited about.
Us leaders are going through a book! If you are not familiar with how Awana runs, let me outline it for you. It's an hour and a half of kids playing fun games, listening to a sermon about Jesus and the Bible, and memorizing verses from the Bible. Going through a book means memorizing a range from 80 to 133 verses.
Well when I learned we were going to go through a book, I was VERY excited. One: I get to have the accountability from kids (which seems much more...brutal then if it where say...my husband who is more understanding of my excuses. Kids don't let anything slide by ;) ). Two: I get to memorize God's word. Which I haven't done since... well since I was in Awana and other programs like that. Three: It's so much easier to explain the verse to a child when you study it in depth.
Turns out, the book I'm going through is actually kind of hard! And I'm only in the first one!! I'm excited about what I'm going to be able to do as a leader this year, through this book and through just being able to become friends with these girls.
