Steak Teriyaki Burritos

Taste of Home is one of my favorite recipe magazines. Unfortunately my subscription ran out and I'm stubborn... I refuse to buy it again just because the recipes are online (for free).

I tried a new recipe over the summer. It's called Steak Teriyaki Quesadillas (link is for "members only", just a forewarning that it might ask you to sign up online). It was amazing, and whats better: My husband LOVES it. I have tweaked their recipe to my own. One: The ingriedents don't stay inside of a quesadilla, especially when you try to flip it inside of a pan. Two: Too much....strange cheese taste. So I switched that up =D. Here is my recipe!

Steak Teriyaki Burritos

(photo by Taste of Home, not mine...)

1/3 Cup - Soy Sauce (you may use regular soy sauce like me, or if you really like that "teriyaki" flavor, you can use that one!)
1/3 Cup - Chicken Broth
1 Tbsp - Brown Sugar
1 Tsp - Minced Ginger-root
1/2 Tsp - Onion Powder (I usually cut a small onion in medium to big size pieces and put it in the marinade.)
 1 Garlic Clove, minced
1 Beef top sirloin steak (1 inch thick and 3/4 pound)
1/2 Cup - Chopped Pineapple (I do NOT put this in here, but it's in the original recipe...so it's there for whoever is brave!)
1/2 Cup - Chopped Onion
1/2 Cup - Chopped Green Pepper (I add Yellow for color and taste)
2 Cups - Shredded Jack Cheese (recipe calls for Mozzarella)
Sour Cream
Tortillas

How It's Made

Chop your steak up into stripes (or bites if you prefer). Set aside.

Add Soy Sauce, Chicken Broth, Brown Sugar, Ginger Root, Garlic and onion powder (or onions) into a big freezer bag (these things). Shake! Make sure you mix it enough that all the brown sugar is dissolved. Add Steak!

Marinate for at least 2 hours.

*2 hours pass by*

Chop onion and peppers to the size you want. I usually try to match the length of each to the length of the steak. I'm a little OCD sometimes and like my food I chew to be even =D. Saute Onion and Pepper together.

Grill (or cook if you don't have a grill like me =( )marinated steak.
Shred Cheese.

Grill tortillas or just heat them up. Sprinkle desired amount of cheese on tortilla, followed by Onions and Peppers, then Steak. Add sour cream if you like and then roll into burrito!

MMM! Enjoy!

Now...I just need a good rice recipe! Like a wonderful side dish! Any ideas??
